An Order-Disorder Transition in Soft-Mode Turbulence

In the soft-mode turbulence which is a kind of spatiotemporal chaos generated by nonlinear interaction betweenthe Nambu-Goldstone mode and the convective mode, an order-disorder transition is revealed by introducing an orderparameter called pattern ordering. We found that the transition point equals to the Lifshitz frequency which separates betweenthe oblique and the normal rolls. The order-disorder transition is due to the different type of nonlinear interaction in theoblique and the normal rolls.
